Spring Cleaning Game Plan

Does it feel like Spring takes forever to get here except when it comes to the cleaning and organizing? We’ve been there and are here to give you the encouragement you need to have a spring cleaning game plan this year!

Step 1: Write A Spring Cleaning Game Plan

The first step in preparing for a successful spring cleaning this year is to have a game plan. What does this mean exactly? Well, when you have your chores and tasks planned out, not only will you be efficient, but you will also be able to plan for the products you need and a good order to do the tasks themselves.

So how do you write a game plan? Begin with writing every task that comes to mind that need to be done within the next 2 1/2 months. Categorize based on indoors/outdoors or if the chores are only for specific rooms of the house. Once you have everything written down on paper, prioritize the order in which you would like to complete the tasks. After you have a good idea on the order in which you’d like to do the tasks, then we recommend assigning the tasks to a certain timeframe that seems doable for you. This may be 3 tasks each weekend, or one big clean day for the next 3 months or spreading out the tasks to do one every-other day. We guarantee this will make the thought of spring cleaning less daunting if you have a practical and laid out way to hit your much needed tasks.

Step 2: Prepare A Week Ahead

If you followed the game plan approach, you will know exactly when certain tasks will be completed, potentially down to the day if you are very enthusiastic! Review this schedule often, so you are aware of the tasks that are approaching. Once you are a week out from the chores, adequately prepare for any supplies you will need. If you want to make the day-of a breeze, you could even have a box or bucket with the supplies you’ll need ready so when the day or weekend comes, you are ready to hit it!

Another great perk for preparing a week ahead allows you to contact any help that you may need to do the tasks or borrow any equipment. Preparing in this way will set you up for success when the time comes to begin the spring cleaning to-do’s!

Step 3: Game Day

It’s game day, and we do not mean your favorite sports team! We encourage you to start your spring cleaning to-do’s off right with a good hearty breakfast to give you nourishment to complete the tasks at hand. If you’re anything like us, you love a good cup of Joe or some cinnamon donut holes. Consider adding a special treat as motivation as you check off each task one-by-one.

Remember, this day dos not need to be dreaded. Celebrate your accomplishment of tackling the spring cleaning by ending your day with a celebratory dinner or pizza party. You will feel so accomplished, we guarantee it.

Good luck!
