It’s hard to believe October is officially upon us and we are totally here for it. One of the things we have learned over the years is the beauty in how the fall season is almost a visual reminder to slow down, reflect, and reset. In this blog post, we would like to provide 3 things to incorporate this fall into your everyday life.
The Importance of Slowing Down
After coming off the summer season with many commitments, events, and outdoor responsibilities, it can feel as though we will never catch a break. However, as this time of year rolls around and the reality of slowing down creeps in as the daylight begins to lessen, outdoor chores wrap up, and the calendar begins a new rhythm.
We encourage you to fully embrace this time to intentionally slow down. How do you do this? By grabbing a book, by sitting on your front porch, by baking a loaf of bread, by simply being present and enjoying the little moments. As you slow down, you begin seeing the beauty that is all around you.
The Importance of Reflecting
After you have slowed down, now is the opportunity to reflect on the year. Was this year one filled with excitement and blessing? Or was it filled with difficulty and discouragement? Reflecting on your year allows you to learn from it and take steps moving forward to make changes where needed.
The Importance of Resetting
Now is our favorite part… RESET. Once you have done the above steps, you are ready to reset and embrace the remaining months of the year. Resetting can be as simple as doing a home “refresh” through organization, decluttering, or a furniture update. However, it can also be a step further in beginning new habits or rituals that change how you live your day-to-day life or your long-term priorities.
Resetting benefits all of us. We hope that as you begin this final quarter of the year, you feel equipped and full of anticipation for what is ahead.
