Oftentimes, as the spring season gets underway, our focus turns primarily to spring cleaning to give our homes a fresh, clean slate. Spring cleaning is essential and has so many benefits to keeping up with our home maintenance and cleanliness. However, in this blog post, we would like to focus on how to create an efficient house-cleaning schedule that makes keeping up on daily and weekly tasks a breeze.
#1 Write Down All the Various Tasks
It’s hard to create a schedule when we aren’t aware of all of the tasks at hand. We recommend sitting down and writing out a comprehensive list of the various tasks needing to be completed in your house cleaning. From there, consider the task’s frequency, urgency, and logistics surrounding the chores.

#2 Map Out Tasks by the Day
Once you have a general idea of the various tasks and the frequency needed to have them completed, now would be the time to map out the tasks on the ideal day for them to be completed. Having set days for various tasks ensures the tasks aren’t forgotten and they are done often enough for them not to get out of hand.
#3 Do a Trial Run
Now that you have a general idea of your cleaning schedule, we highly recommend doing a “trial run” of the cleaning schedule for a week or two. This allows you to see how well the schedule works, what areas need to be tweaked or changed, and what parts work well together in your daily life.

#4 Edit as Needed & Make Visible
Our final step in creating an efficient house cleaning schedule is to update the schedule where needed and see how the updated version works. It’s important to keep in mind that we all have seasons in our lives where certain schedules work and where changes need to occur. Be kind to yourself as you navigate your scheduling process.
In addition, now is the time to make your schedule visible to stay on track. This could be in print or digital calendar, a 8×11 paper on the fridge or any other place you are able to view often.
